Terms and Conditions
African Traditional Regalia – 3D Game‑Ready Asset Development Challenge

By registering for, submitting to, or participating in the African Traditional Regalia – 3D Game‑Ready Asset Development Challenge (“Competition”), each participant (“Participant”, “You”) agrees to be legally bound by the following Terms & Conditions (“Terms”).
1. Organizer & Corporate Structure
1.1 The Competition is organized and administered by Digital Realm Entertainment, Inc., a company duly registered and operating under the laws of the Republic of Rwanda (“Organizer”, “Company”, “We”, “Us”, “Our”).
1.2 Pixel Realm is a product, platform, and brand owned and operated by Digital Realm Entertainment, Inc. and does not constitute a separate legal entity.
1.3 All references to Pixel Realm in these Terms refer to products, services, or platforms operated by Digital Realm Entertainment, Inc.
2. Eligibility
2.1 The Competition is open to individuals worldwide who are at least 18 years of age at the time of submission.
2.2 Employees, contractors, or immediate family members of the Organizer or its direct partners involved in administering the Competition are not eligible to participate.
2.3 Participation is individual only; team submissions are not permitted.
3. Competition Period
3.1 The Competition opens and closes on the dates announced on the official Competition page.
3.2 The Organizer reserves the right to modify the Competition timeline at its sole discretion, with reasonable notice provided.
4. Submission Requirements
4.1 Each Participant may submit one (1) original entry.
4.2 Submissions must meet all technical, artistic, and documentation requirements outlined in the official Competition Brief.
4.3 Submissions that fail to meet minimum technical standards or are incomplete may be disqualified without notice.
5. Originality & Representations
By submitting an entry, the Participant represents and warrants that:
5.1 The submitted work is entirely original and created solely by the Participant.
5.2 The submission does not infringe any copyright, trademark, moral right, cultural right, or other intellectual property rights of any third party.
5.3 No AI‑generated meshes, textures, animations, or materials used in the creation of the submission.
5.4 All cultural references are presented respectfully and in good faith, with reasonable research and documentation.
6. Intellectual Property & Ownership
6.1 Ownership Retained Participants retain full ownership and copyright of their submitted works.
6.2 License Grant to Organizer By submitting an entry, Participants grant the Organizer a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free license to:
Display the submission for judging, promotion, marketing, and exhibition;
Feature the submission in digital showcases, social media, and promotional materials;
Use submission images, videos, and descriptions for Competition‑related publicity.
6.3 Marketplace Distribution If a submission is selected for inclusion in the Pixel Realm Asset Store, the Participant agrees to enter into a separate marketplace licensing or distribution agreement, including revenue‑sharing terms.
6.4 Submissions not selected for marketplace distribution will not be sold or licensed commercially by the Organizer without additional written consent.
7. Cultural Respect Clause
7.1 The Organizer reserves the right to reject, disqualify, or remove any submission deemed to:
Misrepresent cultural heritage;
Promote harmful stereotypes;
Lack sufficient research or context.
7.2 Cultural interpretation decisions made by the judging panel are final.
8. Judging & Decisions
8.1 All submissions will be judged based on the published Judging Criteria.
8.2 Judges’ decisions are final and binding.
9. Prizes
9.1 Prize details will be announced on the official Competition page.
9.2 Prizes are non‑transferable and may not be exchanged for cash unless explicitly stated.
9.3 The Organizer is not responsible for any taxes, duties, or fees associated with prize receipt.
10. Disqualification
The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any Participant who:
Violates these Terms;
Submits false information;
Engages in plagiarism or fraud;
Attempts to manipulate the judging or submission process.
11. Limitation of Liability
11.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Organizer shall not be liable for:
Lost, late, damaged, or corrupted submissions;
Technical failures or system interruptions;
Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation.
12. Indemnification
Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless to the Organizer, its partners, judges, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the Participant’s submission or breach of these Terms.
13. Privacy
13.1 Personal information collected will be used solely for administering the Competition, communicating with Participants, and promotional purposes related to the Competition.
13.2 The Organizer will not sell Participant personal data to third parties unrelated to the Competition.
14. Modification & Termination
The Organizer reserves the right to:
Modify these Terms at any time;
Suspend or cancel the Competition for reasons beyond its reasonable control.
Any changes will be posted on the official Competition page.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to the Organizer’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict‑of‑laws principles.
16. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an entry, Participants confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full.
17. Data Protection & Privacy (Rwanda‑Governed)
17.1 Applicable Law
All personal data processing under this Competition is governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda, including but not limited to:
Law No. 058/2021 of 13/10/2021 Relating to the Protection of Personal Data and Privacy
Any applicable regulations or directives issued by the National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA)
Where Participants are located outside Rwanda, reasonable measures are taken to align with internationally recognized data protection standards.
17.2 Data Controller
For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, Digital Realm Entertainment, Inc. is the Data Controller.
Pixel Realm operates as a platform under the authority and control of the Data Controller.
17.3 Personal Data Collected
The Organizer may collect and process the following categories of personal data:
Full name or registered artist alias
Email address and contact information
Country of residence
Portfolio links or professional profiles
Submission files and associated metadata
Images, videos, and written descriptions related to submitted artwork
No sensitive personal data is required or intentionally collected.
17.4 Purpose of Data Processing
Personal data is collected and processed solely for the purposes of:
Administering and managing the Competition
Verifying eligibility and originality of submissions
Communicating Competition-related information
Judging, showcasing, and promoting submitted artworks
Facilitating asset onboarding to the Pixel Realm Asset Store (where applicable)
Personal data shall not be processed for unrelated or incompatible purposes.
17.5 Legal Basis for Processing
Data processing is carried out based on one or more of the following lawful bases under Rwandan law:
Explicit or implied Participant consent
Performance of a contractual relationship (Competition participation)
The Organizer’s legitimate interests in operating, securing, and promoting the Competition
17.6 Data Storage & Retention
Personal data is stored securely and retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill Competition and archival purposes.
Submission of materials may be retained for historical, educational, or promotional purposes unless a valid removal request is submitted.
17.7 Participant Rights
Participants have the right to:
Request access to their personal data
Request correction or deletion of inaccurate data
Withdraw consent where applicable
Object to certain forms of processing
Requests must be submitted in writing through official Organizer contact channels and will be handled in accordance with Rwandan law.
17.8 Data Security
The Organizer implements appropriate administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
18. Pixel Realm Asset Store – License & Distribution Terms
18.1 Store Authority
The Pixel Realm Asset Store is owned and operated by Digital Realm Entertainment, Inc.
Inclusion of any submission in the Pixel Realm Asset Store is subject to the Organizer’s internal quality, technical, and cultural review standards.
18.2 Marketplace License Grant
If a submission is selected for marketplace distribution, the Participant grants Digital Realm Entertainment, Inc. a:
Non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑bearing license to host, reproduce, display, market, distribute, sublicense, and sell the approved asset through the Pixel Realm Asset Store.
This license applies only to the specific asset(s) accepted for marketplace publication.
18.3 Ownership & Artistic Rights
Artists retain full intellectual property ownership of their submitted works.
No ownership rights are transferred to the Organizer.
Artists may distribute or license their work elsewhere unless a separate written exclusivity agreement is executed.
18.4 Asset Management & Removal
Digital Realm Entertainment, Inc. reserves the right to:
Request corrections, optimizations, or updates before publication
Modify previews, thumbnails, or metadata for marketing clarity
Remove assets that violate applicable laws, platform standards, or cultural guidelines
Artists may request asset removal with reasonable written notice. Removal does not affect licenses already granted to end users.
19. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Rwanda.
Any disputes arising from the Competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts in Rwanda.
20. Acceptance
By registering for or submitting to the Competition, Participants acknowledge that:
Digital Realm Entertainment, Inc. is the legal organizer
Pixel Realm is a product/platform of the Organizer
Personal data is processed under Rwandan law
Marketplace participation requires acceptance of Pixel Realm store terms
Participation constitutes full and informed acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
