The Coronation

with this piece I wanted to highlight the two significant aspects of ancient benin kingdom, which are the benin wall and benin bronze work. the idea was to capture the majestic grandeur of the popular ancient benin wall, and at the same time capture the beauty of the benin broze works. wanted to paint a "snap-shot" in time that is the coronation of the oba of benin to try and capture the essense of the benin kingdom in terms of its people, culture and architectural beauty.
